Eboost - Spruce Energizing Whole Greens Green Apple Ginger - 15 Packets - 0.59 oz. (16.7 g) Packets

Eboost Spruce Energizing Whole Greens Green Apple Ginger is a convenient, energizing alternative to juicing and ready-to-drink greens juices. Mix it with water or a variety of beverages and let the wholesome, nutritional goodness lift you up. Each packet supplies 3 servings of greens vegetables, plus 6 grams of fiber. This is a true whole-foods equivalence. The flavor and nutritional goodness of the vegetables in Spruce have been protected by freeze and air drying. Spruce Energizing Whole Greens includes 85 mg of natural caffeine and antioxidants from whole coffee cherries.

Spruce Energizing Whole Greens Green Apple Ginger Features:

  • Freeze and Air-Dried Whole Greens
  • 85 mg of Natural Caffeine
  • Farm to Packet, Quality Assured
  • Gluten, Soy and Allergen-free

3 True Servings of Vegetables
At the nutritional core of Spruce is a blend of freeze-dried and air-dried vegetables. Each serving (1 packet) of the product provides the equivalent of 3 servings of whole vegetables, based on USDA serving definitions and freeze- and air-drying "dry-down" ratios.

Freeze and air drying are established methods for preserving whole foods in a powdered form. Both methods retain a high level of the original flavor, color, and nutritional goodness. They preserve the whole plant, including the fiber. Only moisture is removed. With Spruce you get the food, the whole food, and nothing but.

When they say "3 servings of veggies", you can trust that this is a true whole-foods equivalence. Some brands claim that their greens products contain the equivalent of multiple servings of vegetables. Such "equivalence" statements may be based not on whole foods per se, but rather other indicators, such as antioxidant potential (e.g. ORAC values) or nutrient levels. This can be misleading.

The Spruce formula is as easy to understand as it is nutritionally powerful. Other brands take the "everything but the kitchen sink" approach, putting small doses of a confusing array of ingredients into their products. In contrast, Spruce provides 5 green vegetables in doses that matter, plus a label you can make sense of.

Ingredients

Kale
Kale is a cousin of broccoli and cauliflower, and a descendant of wild cabbage. Its leaves are armed with an array of health-promoting nutrients such as protein, vitamin C, and vitamin K. The kale in Spruce is farmed, freeze-dried, and quality tested in the heartland of the US.

Spinach
Popeye may have been onto something. Spinach contains a compound called ecdysterone, which research suggests may promote strong muscles. It also contains compounds that support healthy levels of nitric oxide, a substance involved in the regulation of blood flow. In a recent study, men fed spinach for 14 days before running a half-marathon had reduced levels of markers of muscle damage and increased levels of antioxidants.

Broccoli
This vegetable rockstar is a cousin to kale and cauliflower. It is known for its vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, fiber, and more. Like its cousins, broccoli contains a compound known as sulforaphane which research suggests may have strong health-protecting benefits.

Asparagus
You can find plenty of folic acid and thiamin (vitamin B1) in this supergreen, as well as an antioxidant known as rutin.

Cabbage
Thiamin, calcium, magnesium and fiber are just some of the nutrients in cabbage. Some studies performed in the 1950s suggest that cabbage juice can promote the healing of peptic ulcers.

Agave Inulin
Agave inulin consists of inulin extracted from the agave plant. Inulin is a complex carbohydrate that adds fiber to Spruce. It is known as prebiotic because it supports healthy bacteria in the gut such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus. They use organic agave inulin in Spruce.

Coffee Cherry
Coffee cherries contribute to the energizing boost that you get from Spruce. The coffee cherry is the fruit of the coffee plant. Each serving of Spruce contains 85 mg of natural caffeine supplied by approximately 6 whole coffee cherries. Coffee cherries contain higher levels of many beneficial compounds than brewed coffee. They contain several compounds not found in the coffee bean alone. Scientific studies provide evidence that these compounds support healthy glucose (blood sugar) metabolism and protection from free radicals associated with aging. The coffee cherries used in Spruce are grown at dedicated, family-owned plantations to ensure a satisfactory quality of life for all employees.

Ginger Root
Ginger is perhaps best known for adding pungency to meals and calming a nauseous stomach. It contains compounds known as gingerols that may aid in the relief of muscle discomfort following tough workouts.

About Eboost

At Eboost, they make sure everything they create helps people feel great and do more. Their company was founded in New York City in 2007 by entrepreneurs Josh Taekman and John McDonald. Both were fans of European effervescent vitamin products and wanted to create something that offered the nutritional benefits plus natural caffeine to provide an extra boost. This led to their first product, the Eboost energy + vitamins powder.

Since the introduction of the first product, the line has expanded to include energy + vitamins shots, a pre-workout powder (POW) and a whole greens powder (Spruce). Eboost products are designed by a team of experts with over half a century of combined experience in dietary supplements and natural products. They are enjoyed by celebrities and professional athletes including Jillian Michaels, Amar’e Stoudemire, Kelly Ripa, Keith Rivers, Anthony Fasano, Shakira, Heidi Klum, Oprah Winfrey, Kristen Taekman, and Martha Stewart.

In March 2013, Jillian Michaels became an investor in Eboost and assumed the role of Chief Energy Officer. Eboost has been featured on Good Morning America, Bloomberg Television, O The Oprah Magazine, Vanity Fair, People, Men’s Fitness, The Today Show, Life & Style, and US Weekly.
